Pionnière incontestée du dubpoetry en France, Sista Caro est la première femme à avoir porté cette forme d’art sur les scènes hexagonales dès les années 1990. Artiste internationale, elle incarne depuis plus de trente ans un pont vivant entre la musique, la poésie, la spiritualité et l’engagement social.

Chanteuse, dubpoet, conteuse et historienne spirituelle, elle explore un vaste univers musical mêlant dub, reggae roots, dancehall et percussions nyabinghi, tout en faisant vibrer les cœurs par la puissance de sa voix douce et militante. Sa parole, profondément enracinée dans la culture rasta, est un outil de transmission et de résistance.

Sista Caro a voyagé et chanté à travers l’Europe, les Caraïbes et l’Afrique : de la Martinique, la Guadeloupe, la Jamaïque, Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, au Ghana, en passant par Montréal, l’Angleterre, la Suisse, l’Allemagne, l’Espagne, l’Italie, la Grèce, la Suisse et les Pays-Bas. Partout où elle passe, elle partage une vibration authentique de justice, d’égalité, de fraternité humaine, de sororité et d’amour universel.

Initiée auprès des Elders rasta et des communautés nyabinghi, son engagement spirituel profond guide ses créations. À travers ses dubpoems et ses contes en musique, elle transmet les sagesses ancestrales et contemporaines, portant un message puissant de conscience et de rédemption.

Depuis 1995, Sista Caro est un pilier incontournable de la scène reggae-dub underground française, présente dans de nombreux festivals et événements tels que DubCamp, DubField, Festijam, Festival Marathon, Festival de Pézenas, Inna Yard, Erva Festival, et bien d'autres.

Elle partage aujourd’hui régulièrement la scène avec son fils, le multi-instrumentiste et compositeur Lord Abel, fondateur du sound system MYSTIROOTS HI-FI, désormais emblématique de la scène dub de Dijon. Ensemble, ils offrent des performances intenses, où la basse jouée en live rencontre la voix consciente de Sista Caro, créant une alchimie rare et vibrante.

A trailblazer of dub poetry in France, Sista Caro stands as the first woman to bring this powerful art form to French stages in the early 1990s. An international artist, she has spent over three decades bridging music, poetry, spirituality, and social consciousness, creating a living dialogue between art and activism.

A singer, dubpoet, storyteller, and spiritual historian, Sista Caro explores a vast musical universe rooted in dub, roots reggae, dancehall, and nyabinghi percussion. Her voice—both soft and powerful—resonates through conscious lyrics and mystical vibrations. Deeply anchored in Rastafarian culture, her words are instruments of transmission and resistance.

Sista Caro has traveled and performed across Europe, the Caribbean, and Africa—from Martinique, Guadeloupe, Jamaica, and Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon to Ghana, and across cities like Montreal, London, Geneva, Berlin, Barcelona, Milan, Athens, Amsterdam, and more. Wherever she goes, she brings a message of justice, equality, sisterhood, and universal love, sharing an authentic vibration that transcends borders.
